Product Development Manager

_At Adaptable Recruitment we have a fantastic opportunity for a Product Development Manager to join an Ever Growing Travel Specialist company in the Chester area. T_his is a full time, permanent role that offers a brilliant office environment with a great culture and enhanced company benefits.

Package: up to £50,000 DOE - (9-5pm - 37.5 hours) - Permanent
Holidays: 22 days + bank (increasing 1 day per year)
Location: Chester - Fully Office based - Parking on site
Main Responsibilities to include:

  • Full ownership and responsibility for key bedbank and global hotel chain relationships across the business, for negotiating market leading rates, contract terms and exclusive offers
  • Full ownership and responsibility for the XML/API strategy of the business, ensuring the most efficient, cost effective and accurate technical solutions are found for delivering connected supplier rates into our business
  • Accountability for the trading performance of designated product lines
  • Creation of the product strategy for new destinations using market research, competitor analysis and performance reviews
  • Development and management of strong supplier relationships (at all levels) across a range of product types and across a range of international destinations
  • Ensuring all designated Product lines and suppliers adhere to full Health and Safety requirements
  • Developing and sourcing funding for marketing opportunities from suppliers
  • Supporting the sales teams with product training and information
  • Working with IT teams on technical solutions for connectivity

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working within a Product/Purchasing management role within a UK Tour Operator
  • Previous experience of working with supplier connectivity technologies and the processes for the delivery of hotel rates
  • Strong knowledge of the online travel sector
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
