Business Insights Lead - Life Sciences

Your new role
You will be joining a core team focused on supporting colleagues across the UK & Ireland, typically taking responsibility for managing relationships with key internal stakeholders/internal customers and supporting them with insights and potential adjustments after conducting in-depth analysis and interpretation of varied internal data sets.

This is a permanent position, with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring regular time in office (c. 2 days per week on average).
The primary focus of this role is to analyse and interpret data to help advance the business as a whole, including coming up with ideas to address shortfalls in performance based on your analysis and then 'telling a story' with this data to key decision makers and internal customers.

Other major responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver actionable insights to the regional leadership teams across the UK & Ireland.
  • Contribute to transformation projects across different departments.
  • Ensure an insight-driven organisation to drive business objectives and make fact-based decisions.
  • Transform raw data from multiple sources into actionable insights in a cross-functional environment.
  • Challenge and collaborate with stakeholders to come up with and help implement innovative solutions.
  • Develop strategic initiatives to improve financial performance and customer experience.
  • Help shape and deliver the insights strategy in collaboration with the wider team.
  • Help review, optimise and potentially create new dashboards to provide customer and business insights from multiple data sources.

What you'll need to succeed
As well as a passion for the industry - and ideally for making an impact on patients - you should have:

  • A work history within the Life Sciences/healthcare sector, eg working for a pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, medical device company or similar
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, preferably gained in a pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, medical device or CRO environment
  • The ability to 'tell a story' with the data
  • Very good analysis and interpretation skills, with a track record of generating insights and relaying these to key staff/colleagues
  • A track record of partnering with departments, managers or other internal customers, preferably in order to demonstrate ways your insights could be used to improve performance
  • Project management skills, as you will be required to work independently as well as part of a wider team
  • Good technical skills for data analysis and interpretation or dashboard development / optimisation
  • A learning & development mindset, looking for ways to improve and increase your knowledge and skills

Experience with Tableau / PowerBI or a similar technology would be useful, as would any exposure to Snowflake/SAP/Alteryx/VBA/SQL - although the group has good expertise in these technologies and this can be taught
