Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Gateshead/Tanfield
Reporting To: Operations Director
Subordinates: None
OVERALL PURPOSE:
To ensure that machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creating a maintenance plan for all machinery and equipment
2. Identify and implement ‘critical spares' to reduce downtime
3. Perform routine maintenance on all assets and site
4. Establishing maintenance policies and procedures
- Responding to breakdowns
- Diagnosing and logging faults
- Plan and oversee the repair of equipment and testing
- Supervising contractors, engineering and technical staff.
- Ordering specialist components, fixtures or fittings in line with engineering budget
- Managing stocks of supplies and equipment
- Installing equipment (where possible) and overseeing all equipment required for installation
- Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required
- Carry out any other duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed and maintain a professional attitude
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as set out within the employee handbook
- Keeping records of faults and repairs.
- Improve health and safety policies and procedures
- Work within company Health and Safety Rules & BRCGS Standards
