Role Overview:
As a Senior Buyer specializing in BWS (Beer, Wine, and Spirits), you will play a pivotal role in driving their wholesale success through strategic purchasing and supplier management within this category. Based in their West Midlands head office, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality BWS products, negotiating contracts, and collaborating closely with suppliers to ensure their merchandise meets the highest standards of quality and value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize product selection, pricing, and availability within the BWS category.
- Identify new suppliers and maintain strong relationships with existing ones to ensure a diverse and reliable supply chain for BWS products.
- Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards in the BWS category.
- Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities specific to the BWS category to inform purchasing decisions and drive sales growth.
- Work closely with internal teams, including merchandising, inventory management, and marketing, to align procurement activities within the BWS category with business objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance within the BWS category, addressing any issues or discrepancies to ensure consistent product quality and availability.
- Stay informed about industry developments, regulations, and best practices specific to the BWS category to continually improve procurement processes and drive innovation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior buying role within the wholesale industry, with a focus on the BWS category.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully securing advantageous terms and contracts within the BWS category.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to translate data into actionable insights specific to the BWS category.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively within the BWS category.
- Must be able to work in the office 5 days a week in their West Midlands head office.
