Academics Ltd are working with an outstanding school in South Oxfordshire who are looking to appoint a History Teacher to join them from September 2024. We are looking to appoint a fully qualified teacher (with QTS) who is passionate about their subject and is a great practitioner with high expectations and good classroom management. This is also a great opportunity for ECT's looking for their first teaching role

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking history lessons that bring the past to life and encourage students to explore historical perspectives.
  • Teach a range of historical periods and topics, including but not limited to ancient civilizations, world wars, and social movements, to students of varying abilities and ages.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported in their historical inquiries.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources, including primary sources, multimedia materials, and experiential learning activities, to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Assess student understanding and historical skills regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the history curriculum and create interdisciplinary connections.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in History or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Passion for history education and a commitment to fostering historical literacy and critical thinking.
  • Strong subject knowledge across various historical periods and topics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students in historical inquiry and analysis.
