Position: Learning Mentor

Start Date: ASAP

Type: Full-time

Duration: Long-term placement with a potential for a temporary to permanent contract

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Mentor in a school setting
  • A valid DBS on the update service
  • Passion for supporting students in their personal and academic development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Commitment to the school's mission and values

Responsibilities: As a Learning Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Mentoring: Building positive relationships with students, offering them guidance and emotional support, and helping them overcome personal challenges.
  2. Academic Support: Identifying and addressing individual learning needs, working with teachers to develop tailored interventions, and monitoring progress.
  3. Behaviour Management: Assisting in managing and improving student behaviour, addressing any issues, and helping to maintain a positive learning environment.
  4. Attendance and Punctuality: Monitoring and improving student attendance and punctuality, working closely with families and school staff.
  5. Personal Development: Supporting students' personal development, self-esteem, and confidence, and providing opportunities for personal growth.
  6. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records and documentation of interventions and student progress.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies as needed to provide holistic support to students.
  8. Teamwork: Working as part of a dedicated team to create a positive and nurturing school environment.
