Accounts Assistant - Credit Control

Our client, a successful multi-million pound business with several divisions seeks an Accounts Assistant to join their team near Deddington. Own transport required owing to rural location, with an early start (7.30am) and an early finish (4.30pm).

Your main role will be credit control; however, you will be helping with other duties within the Accounts Office. As the credit controller, you will manage the collection of any outstanding debts to the business and minimise the risk of bad debt. You will liaise with the project managers and customers in resolution of bad debt, invoice disputes & review credit limits in line with both spend and risk.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Allocating cash to customer accounts daily, monitoring and chasing outstanding customer debt, proactively communicating with customers
  • Reporting cash income and aged debts position to the Financial Controller on a weekly basis & raising ad hoc invoices and credit notes.
  • The position will also require you to help within the busy Accounts team, such as bank reconciliation, revenue reconciliation and reporting of all our retail outlets and helping the purchase ledger with the management and reconciliation of company credit cards and expenses for example.

Knowledge of previous credit control and good communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to prioritise and demonstrate initiative is essential. Good team player skills and the ability to build inter-department relationships. IT Skills, such as Excel and an Accounts Programme, for example Sage, would be an advantage. Knowledge of dealing with CIS, Reverse Charge and Retention would also be an advantage.

Ideally this is a full time position from 7.30am to 4.30pm.
