Financial Accounting Manager

Posted by Fusion Recruitment Limited.

I am recruiting the Financial Accounting Manager for a rapidly expanding international professional services firm based in Central London.

Global revenue currently stands at c£350m and is growing; their revenue has increased by 35-40% over the past few years, this has been mainly through acquisition.

With more expansion on the horizon, the remit of this role will only expand and become more complex (further international expansion), hence I need a high calibre Technical Accountant, a finance leader with the headroom to grow alongside the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the financial accounting team (4-5) responsible for all aspects of statutory accounting and financial reporting.
  • Preparation of group financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Producing and co-ordinating the notes to accompany the financial statements. Identifying and implementing any changes to accounting policy.
  • Managing both overseas and UK subsidiary statutory accounts processes.
  • Identifying any accounting or technical issues in accordance with IFRS and leading on the resolution of those issues.
  • Review and oversee month end close entries made by the team, ensuring month end is delivered in accordance with reporting timelines and accounting policies.
  • Develop a robust controls framework.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of current processes, systems and reporting.
  • Liaising with the Auditors on all aspects of reporting, ensuring that all relevant information is provided within agreed timelines.

Your profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA). Practice trained with an impressive financial and statutory accounting skill set. Technically (IFRS) strong.
  • Ideally this will be demonstrated by the fact that you qualified in Practice and then had at least one year in a dedicated Financial Accounting role within a mid-cap, large or listed environment.
  • Strong leadership profile, able to motivate, manage and mentor.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Diligent, analytical, curious with a high attention to detail.
  • Systems orientated, demonstrated by your adoption of technology to drive efficiencies.
