Your new company
I've been engaged by a rapidly growing Ecommerce business with a customer base made up of top level professional athletes and sports clubs to recruit a versatile Lead Digital hire, with excellent UX skills (and ideally wider skills listed below).

Working from their head office in Christchurch with some hybrid working once settled in, it's a really unique opportunity to engage with some of the leading teams, individuals and household franchises every sports fan knows.

Having grown from 10 to 30 people over the past 2 years there is a real optimism within the business, with the next target being 50 people in a similar timescale.

Your new role
The scope of the role is wide, they currently have 3 Developers in the team and you'll assume line management responsibility of them (so you should ideally have worked with JavaScript/Front End tech to understand their work streams. You will have strong organisation and project management skills, working with other department heads and Sports Science contacts to help ensure that the tech estate is helping to contribute to the growth of the business in the best way possible.

There is a knowledge gap in the team for quality UX/Design and Google Analytics work, it's assumed by the Devs or the Directors so coming in as a Lead you should take over these responsibilities.

You can also push more into React and coding or explore mobile, UX, Design, Google Analytics and SEO and generally supporting the digital optimisation of the estate.
You will have autonomy and ownership and will be trusted by the Directors. The culture in the business in fantastic with a shared ethos. If you're passionate about sports/healthy living and wish to tie this into your career goals to create best-in-class software solutions then you will fit in.

What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for an expert portfolio covering UX Design and the modern toolset, backed by Adobe, Axure, Balsamiq or similar.

You will have solid HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills and will have likely worked in a Digital Agency where you've also touched Digital Optimisation like SEO/Analytics.

From a Dec perspective React is their framework of choice, a willingness to oversee Developers and run stand ups is key.

This can be summarised as a Digital allrounder - 1st is people management and project management are key. 2nd to this we really need an expert in UX / design and Google Analytics. 3rd would be React or JavaScript Development and the ability to run code reviews. If you meet Number 1, then either number 2 or 3, please apply.

What you'll get in return
They are looking to build an office culture so time to spend with the team will be important. That being said there will be home working opportunities 1-2 days per week. This role offers unique opportunities to attend top-level sporting events and to get a personalised nutrition plan with free supplements included. The team will pay for relevant training to support your growth, and you'll work with a very ambitious and experienced leadership team.
