Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Azure Data Engineer. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory.
- Develop and optimise ETL processes to ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data models, schemas, and databases.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
- Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system designs, data flows, and operating procedures.
Role Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience with data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus, but not required.
