Site Supervisor - Water Industry

Shorterm group are currently working with a clean water asset management company who are looking to take on a Site supervisor to cover Thames Valley, South East, Kent, South London and in the future Isle of Wight.

This role requires a lot of travel and office based tasks so the right candidate must live commutable to West Malling and happy to travel to the above areas.

The role will include carrying out and coordinating a number of tasks on multiple schemes throughout the project life cycle on clean water projects. This will include surveys, Liaison with principle contractors to make sure apparatus is installed to our requirements, supervision of commissioning team, inspection, testing, and handover to ensure safe, successful execution and completion of projects to defined timescales, quality standards and commercial objectives.

Requirements:

Ability to communicate and manage relationships both internal and external.

Work with the Project Teams to review commissioning plans and execute the work to the project schedule.

Ability to complete Inspection and Test Plans, commissioning spreadsheets and relevant documentation.

Ensure all engineering designs meet required standards.

Monitor progress, identify and resolve problems and ensure compliance with the project

Undertake Site Management roles and responsibilities as and when required.

Oversee all aspects of the commissioning project through to completion and client handover phase.

Review projects and close out reports with the Senior Consultant and identify the main issues for continuous learning and improvement.

Facilitate regular team meetings and briefings to keep all members up-to-date and informed about project progress and foster a positive work culture, encouraging innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

Essential skills:

Hands on experience in supervising water main construction sites

Minimum of 5 years water industry experience

CSCS / SMSTS / SSSTS qualification

EUSR Water Hygiene and SHEA Water qualification

NRSWA Supervisor

Valve operations including CALM Networks

Excellent IT knowledge including GIS mapping tools, PDA/Tablet use and online reporting software

Full, clean UK driving license

Personal experiences:

Proven practical industry knowledge of clean water networks

Capable of producing and delivering RAMS to ensure safety and compliance to the highest standard

You will possess strong and evidencable leadership or mentoring skills, able to coordinate resources to deliver works both as a leader and an operative

Proven track record of leading tasks and activities and a drive to see jobs through to resolution

A methodical, measured approach to work and an eagerness to collaborate with all those in the team

You will have a well-rounded understanding health & safety within the water industry

You will take ownership and be accountable for all tasks and activities assigned to you and will evolve the role into your own by prioritising a consistently fluctuating workload

Able to work flexibly and reactively depending on business operations and requirements including day, night and weekend shifts as required

Willingness to travel across a large geographical area.

Line Manager: Senior Consultant

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Occasional night work required - additional 20% pay

Salary: DOE

Weekend Working: As and when required, paid at x1.5 basic rate

Location: Primarily in and around M25 however not limited to this area

Tools and Equipment: Company utility van, fuel card and all tolls paid upfront

Contract mobile phone and tablet and / or toughbook

All uniform and any PPE required

Any tools and equipment deemed necessary to fulfill your role
