We are excited to offer this temporary opportunity to work as a Health Care Assistant in our academy in North Yorkshire.

This Health Care Assistant Job involves:

  • Assisting in the domestic care and general welfare of pupils in respect of personal hygiene programmes
  • Being the primary first aid responder for the school
  • Managing the administration of medication for students as well as checking stock and expiry dates of medication and first aid consumables around the academy.
  • You will support the inclusion team and provide administrative support and carry out domestic tasks around the academy.
  • You will work alongside external stakeholders to create, follow and deliver agreed plans for our students to thrive.

To be successful in applying for this Health Care Assistant role you will need:

  • Experience of working in schools would be desirable.
  • First Aid Qualification or successful completion within 12 months - Essential
  • Experience of working in a care environment - Essential
  • Ability to cope with the personal and physical needs of children and young adults and maintaining pupil dignity at all times - Essential
  • Ability to cope with distressed children - Essential
  • An understanding of the requirement to always follow lifting / handling / hygiene and dignity procedures - Essential
  • A satisfactory DBS Check - Essential
  • A Level 2 Qualification English and Maths - Desirable
  • You must have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to manage your time effectively.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times - Essential.
  • A passion for working in education and working with young people, dedicated to building a strong relationship with students with medical needs and providing the highest level of care and support.
  • To be a self motivated, organised, proactive individual with a warm and nurturing approach with students and be comfortable assisting with their personal care
