?? Senior DevOps Engineer
A renowned organisation specialising in global financial markets and exchanges is seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will lead various engineering activities, including the adoption of public cloud infrastructure and the integration of applications with cloud services. This is a 6-month initial contract offering a daily rate ranging from £600 to £650 (inside IR35 via umbrella)
�? Organisation:
Our client is responsible for supplying both backend and frontend services to trading desks and enterprise users in major financial hubs such as New York and London. They are currently expanding their team and require a Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance their platform's scalability and deliver robust technology solutions.
?? Responsibilities:
Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure colleagues, and 3rd party cloud vendors to integrate public cloud infrastructure and services into the organisation.
Work closely with the Cloud Security team to ensure the timely evaluation of public cloud services, considering business priorities.
Partner with various teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business and technology goals.
Identify and define system enhancements to improve existing processes and architecture.
Provide expertise in DevOps engineering, adhering to best practises and the organisation's strategic tech plan.
Perform troubleshooting tasks, working with clients and production support to address production stability issues.
Use interpretive thinking to provide in-depth analysis and innovative solutions.
Serve as an advisor to mid-level engineers and analysts, allocating work as required.
Make informed business decisions, considering risk and safeguarding the organisation's reputation, clients, and assets.
?? Key Experience and Profile Attributes:
Proven experience in creating DevOps solutions in enterprise container platforms, such as public cloud Kubernetes Services or on-premises platforms.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in microservice architecture and container technologies like Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes-related technologies and tools such as S3, EFS, Lustre FSx, Kubernetes cluster autoscaler, Karpenter, and KEDA.
Proficiency in tools like Terraform, Helm, kubectl, and HashiCorp Vault.
Strong understanding of vulnerability management and security practises for applications and services in the public cloud.
Investment Banking/High-Performance Compute platform experience
Experience with Java programming and the Spring framework is a plus.
Understanding of agile software development and proficiency in developer tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, JIRA, Artifactory, and Jenkins.
In-depth experience in analysing application metrics using observability tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, and Grafana is highly desirable.
Adaptability and agility to fast-evolving technology and changing priorities.
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
Master's degree in an engineering or science subject preferred.
