Posted by Adecco .

We are currently partnering with a local authority in the Midlands, who are looking to recruit to a number of senior interim roles within their Place Directorate.

The council is in the middle of a significant transformation journey and is reviewing their future operating models and structures to ensure they have the right leadership and capacity in place to ensure they are equipped to provide effective and sustainable services.

As part of this process, the council is looking to recruit an interim Chief Operating Officer to bring together the in-house services around Highways and Environment, Economy and Business Services, and Planning and Strategic Transport, with a clear focus on delivering the best possible services for local communities.

This role will assume responsibility for all front-line services. You will be the escalation point for issues in any of the services above and will need to work closely with members to overcome any resident queries.

The successful postholder will have a track record of streamlining services and driving efficiencies in delivery. You will have demonstrated an ability to manage a large and complex multi-disciplinary service. You will also be a strong people leader, with knowledge and experience in regulatory and front-line services across the Place Directorate.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation with ambitious plans for growth, investment and sustainability. You will play a key role in shaping the future delivery of best practice services and designing operating models as well as leveraging partnerships to drive innovation.

This contract is for 6 months initially and will be inside scope of IR35. There will be some onsite presence required but the council is open to hybrid working.
