Assessment Worker

Prospectus is proud to be partnering an inspiring organisation who provide stability, encouragement, and expertise to people across Southeast London who are experiencing homelessness. The charity provides a range of services to support their clients to learn new skills, find work and rebuild positive social networks. They are now recruiting for a temporary, Assessment Worker to join their team, initially for 12-16 weeks.

As one of their Assessment Workers, you will work alongside a team of 3 others to deliver support and advice intervention to users of their Gateway Centre. The Gateway Centre provides support to individuals who are homeless and/or rough sleeping, or at risk of becoming homeless. As part of the Assessment team, you will conduct assessments on a drop-in and appointment basis to identify needs, signpost to relevant services both internal and external to the organisation, as well as provide longer term case management for those with complex needs.

To be successful, you will have demonstrable experience of delivering intervention to individuals who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless and/or rough sleeping who present with varying support needs, including those with complex issues. You will have previous experience of working with clients in a trauma-informed way combined with the ability to produce and approach referrals, needs and risk assessment and building positive reports with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting homeless or rough sleeping individuals, and vulnerable adult groups is essential.

Please note, this is a full-time role, based on site, 37.5 hour per week, Monday - Friday, 8:45am-4:45pm. An Enhanced DBS for Adults is essential, and please only apply if you are available to start immediately or with no more than a 1 week notice period.
