Your New Role

Working for one of the UK's leading energy companies, this role involves the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the company's flexible power generation plant and associated equipment, with a strong emphasis on health and safety. You will ensure that plant and equipment are operated safely and efficiently, as scheduled by the trading team, and in accordance with health and safety systems and procedures. Responsibilities include optimizing plant availability, performing necessary repairs, and minimizing downtime by attending to unplanned breakdowns. You will manage daily reporting on equipment status, maintain accurate plant records and spare parts, and ensure the upkeep of tools and equipment. The role also includes identifying and resolving technical issues, escalating them as needed, and ensuring clear communication with the central Operations Desk regarding site changes. You will manage and supervise external suppliers and contractors, support the handover of newly constructed sites, and share responsibility for call-out cover to address unplanned breakdowns. Additionally, adherence to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety and environmental management systems, is essential. The company may assign additional duties as necessary.

To Ensure Your Success

The ideal candidate should have extensive, hands-on experience with reciprocating gas generators, including deep knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting of these assets. Experience in asset optimization is also essential. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. A valid driving license and the ability to travel are required. Knowledge of peaking engine projects and asset management software and systems would be advantageous. Additionally, experience in supervising third-party contractors or other engineers is highly desirable.
