Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Salary: Negotiable (discuss with consultant)
Location: Hybrid working - London
Reporting to the Cloud Leader, responsibilities will include improving the operational and cost efficiency of our AWS platform solution. Working on all aspects of
modernisation of our cloud systems, converting legacy infrastructure to modern vendor-neutral Terraform (IaC) and removing any waste technology along the way.
As part of the Cloud Engineering team focused on providing resilient and efficient cloud infrastructure, the team itself is small and dedicated with high levels of skill. You'd be
adding your talents to an awesome pool and helping us to grow the team capability by teaching juniors and helping fellow senior engineers to plan, prioritize and execute as
efficiently as possible for the bank.
The Essentials:
? Excellent AWS and services, with an emphasis on containerisation challenges
? Excellent Kubernetes experience as a managed service from AWS
? Strong understanding of one or more of the following: PostgreSQL, MySQL,
MongoDB
? Terraform and the principles of best practice with IaC
? Good understanding of IAM and OIDC
? Good understanding of Kong or similar REST API gateway technology
? Potentially a history of software development (as well as infrastructure
management
? The need to get stuck in to the code, rather than needing to wait for a developer
to explain
