Role and Responsibilities:
As a Legal Assistant in the Commercial department, you will provide high-quality support to enable lawyers to focus on more technical and complex matters. Your role will involve:

- Providing high level legal administrative support.
- Managing client matters alongside lawyers to ensure high service levels.
- Conducting legal research and drafting documents as needed.
- Preparing files for billing and screening incoming calls.
- Sorting and prioritising mail, emails, and messages.
- Delivering a professional, efficient, and friendly service to clients, recognising when they may be going through difficult processes.
- Committing to LEXCEL & Investors in People standards and understanding the requirements of the Law Society.
- Familiarity with Solicitors Accounts Rules affecting the receipt and payment of cheques and client monies.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in legal work, ideally within a busy Commercial team.
- Ability to remain calm, polite, and focused in various situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building and collaborative working abilities.
- Experience in drafting legal documents.
- General administrative experience with great attention to detail.
- Ability to handle a varied workload and work at pace.
- High standard of work under pressure.
- Sound decision-making and ownership of tasks.
- Professional presentation and flexible approach.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft packages.

Desirable Skills:
- A strong background in legal conveyancing work.
