Lead Network Engineer

Posted by Cathcart Technology.

A UK-based cloud consultancy are currently on the lookout for an experienced Lead Network Engineer to join their hybrid team in offices across the Central Belt/East Coast of Scotland, or Northern England/London.

They have vast experience and expertise in the cloud space across the UK with a heavy presence in their market, where they offer a range of services and tailored solutions for their customers.

The role itself requires an experienced Network Engineer to guide the Network team through various projects and day-to-day networking tasks. These include assisting with the design and planning of network solutions, supporting both customers and internal teams with network device trouble shooting, and looking after their multi-datacentre UK network. You will play a vital role in the business as you continue to lead and develop their NOC.

It requires someone with experience in a lead/senior role with light team leader skills who feels confident enough to drive the network team forward and mentor engineers in the process. Essentially, you'll be leading the team to achieving both strategic and operational goals.

It's worth noting that the role also includes some on-call support. One week out of every four, you will be available as a 24/7 escalation point for the on-call team to deal with any difficult queries which the team needs to escalate.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have some of the following:

  • Experience in a Lead of Senior Network Engineering Position
  • Experience with Cisco and Dell Networking
  • Experience with VMWare NSX, Azure, AWS, NVP, MVS and Barracuda
  • CCNP Certification or Higher

The role would suit an experienced senior Network Engineer who is looking to join an exciting and innovative company with ambitions to further their career and climb the ranks. They are huge advocates of career development and progression, and have in-house examples of employees climbing the ranks to senior roles. It's a great time to join the company as they are going through a significant period of growth, and have recently opened up a new office south of the border as they aim to double their workforce over the coming years.

They have offices in Dundee, Aberdeen and down south but offer flexible working with bi-monthly office visits, so are open to speaking with candidates across Scotland and England. In return, they're able to offer a salary of up to £75,000 with a strong benefits package including pension contribution, time off for your birthday, amongst many more.
