Rate: £600 - £650 per day (Inside IR35)

Duration: 6 months (initial contract)

Location: London (on-site once a week)

Team Size: 3 teams (approximately 10 members per team)

Job Overview:

Our client is looking for a highly experienced DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in monorepos to address ongoing challenges with their current setup. The ideal candidate will work closely with the business to determine whether the monorepo should be optimised or split into multiple servicerepos and then lead the implementation. This is a hands-on consulting role, requiring flexibility and a thoughtful approach without imposing preconceived ideas. A key part of the role will be training and upskilling team members on monorepos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with the business and teams to assess the viability of the current monorepo and determine whether to fix or split into servicerepos.
  • Implement the agreed-upon solution and work closely with the teams to ensure smooth transitions and optimisation's.
  • Build, update, and manage complex CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for multiple services and complex build steps.
  • Train and upskill team members in monorepo best practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions.

Required Experience:

  • Extensive experience managing both monorepos and multiple repositories/services within a monorepo structure.
  • Strong proficiency with GitHub, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for complex requirements.
  • Proven track record of driving scalable infrastructure improvements and delivering effective solutions in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively, consultatively, and mentor team members.
