Senior Finance Officer

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Senior Finance Officer in North London on a Part time 4 days a week permanent basis with a well-established charity. This Senior Finance Officer role is paying up to £38,000 per annum.

The Senior Finance Officer will take responsibility for overseeing and maintaining the purchase, cash, and nominal ledgers. Handle financial transactions, data input, reporting, and filing using Xero and Excel. Ensure the completion of all monthly accounting duties leading up to the preparation of management accounts.

Main Responsibilities of the Senior Finance Officer:

  • Manage all financial transactions through Xero and handle payments via online banking.
  • Collaborate with team members to issue client invoices and ensure prompt payment of accounts.
  • Review and reconcile supplier statements and invoices.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and assist with preparing management reports that analyse financial variances.
  • Assist the Finance Director with year-end accounts preparation, the annual audit, payroll processing, and maintaining internal financial controls.

Person Specification of the Senior Finance Officer:

  • Occasionally attend Board meetings and other relevant gatherings as needed.
  • Engage in training and development activities to support personal and professional growth.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set by the charity
  • Contribute to the organisation's efforts to uphold Quality Standards.
  • Participate in employee, team, and supervision meetings as required.
  • Ensure best practices are followed to prevent the abuse of vulnerable adults, in line with the charities policy and local guidelines.
