Location- Near Fareham, Hampshire

Reed Recruitment (Southampton branch) are recruiting for a full-time, permanent quantity surveyor that has M&E experience. As part of our client's ongoing expansion within the residential housing sector, they are seeking a M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in their offices near Fareham, Hampshire. As the quantity surveyor you will assist their commercial and operations teams, reporting to their commercial director, to deliver projects located in the south of England.

Main tasks of job:

Responsibilities:

1. Maximise the commercial position of the MEPH project while maintaining positive client relationships.

2. Protect the contractual position by ensuring all obligations are appropriately discharged.

3. Take active responsibility for commercial procedures in conjunction with senior management.

4. Lead the valuation process for M&E when applicable.

5. Advise on product selection, specifications, and assist with value engineering exercises.

6. Advise on the selection of subcontractors for package works.

7. Attend meetings with the design team and subcontractors.

8. Assist in managing the change process in conjunction with the extended team.

9. Manage the subcontractor site instruction process with the operations team.

10. Ensure subcontractor certifications and notifications are issued on time.

11. Prepare a 'rolling' final account throughout the project and aim to agree upon it at practical completion.

12. Complete the final account administration and manage the retention release closeout for subcontractors.

13. Input into internal reporting via CVR, cash flows, project reports, and monthly project reviews.

14. Ensure project archiving is completed.

The Successful M&E Quantity Surveyor:

1. Experience at a similar level within the construction industry.

2. Good knowledge of M&E-related works, including dealing directly with suppliers.
