Salary: £50,000 to £51,000 per annum plus overtime paid at x1.5 and x2.0, and benefits
Hours: 4 on 4 off, 6am till 6pm - DAYS ONLY
Location: Commutable from Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Dorking, Worthing, East Grinstead and surrounding areas

We are recruiting for a reputable and growing manufacturer who are expanding and looking for a reliable and dedicated Maintenance Team Leader / Maintenance Supervisor, either discipline considered (mechanical or electrical or multi skilled) to work within their fast moving and manufacturing environment. It is a mixed and varied role, a combination of hands on and getting stuck into the work as well as planning and coordinating etc. A rough and approximate estimate between the two would be 50/50 split.

Responsibilities

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, your role is to support him in the day to day and strategic management of a department of approximately 18 Multi Skilled (Mechanical / Electrical), Maintenance Engineers. The role heavily focuses on; Driving and coordinating their CMMS system. To actively encourage and optimise operational performance through regular planned maintenance and improvement activities in order to deliver high levels of plant availability and reliability to ensure production schedules are met.To take an active role in health and safety, specifically around risk assessments and SOP's, as well as planning of jobs, management of parts and stores, assessing training requirements for the engineers and giving those opportunities to learn and advance their abilities in their roles.

Liaise with the Engineering Manager to identify future training needs for your staff and yourself which will assist in the development of a professional and flexible team and maximise the utilisation of resources.
Lead by example, drive and adhere to health, safety and environmental working practices in accordance with company policies, procedures and legal requirements.
Taking on an active role in the promotion of Health & Safety, completing risk assessments and updating or changing SOP's if/when required.
Develop and drive a culture of continuous improvement in the maintenance department through the use of lean techniques and tools to bring around operational transformation and culture change.
Ensure cost effective maintenance of the equipment, plant and buildings
Provide a timely and efficient breakdown service to minimise machinery downtime and improve OEE to ensure consistent production.
Ensure that the maintenance structure is optimised to provide the most efficient cover for the plant.
Identify training requirements of your team.
Utilise good sound knowledge of the plant and it's workings to enable you to make informed decisions regarding breakdowns, repairs and maintenance.
Deliver plant improvement through effective use of preventative maintenance.
Provide a consistent leadership style that promotes teamwork, open communication, can do attitude, leading by example and a culture of continuous improvement.
Work closely with the production to ensure optimum productivity of the factory.

Requirements

Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and/or hold relevant engineering qualifications in EITHER Electrical or Mechanical or Multi Skilled or Engineering
Management of a team of Engineers, in such position including but not limited to Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisory or Maintenance Team Leader.
Exposure and promotion of Health & Safety and completing Risk Assessments is essential and preferably with a relevant qualification e.g. IOSH
Experience of maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Supported and/or worked in an environment that used a CMMS (computerised maintenance management system)
Ability to prioritise and delegate workload and use own initiative in a fast paced production environment
Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in
Friendly, adaptable and ability to inspire others
