- Develop, lead, and execute buying strategies
- Develop the OTB and successfully implement plans
- Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking
- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks within the designated category
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
Profile
A successful Buyer should have:
- Proven working experience as a Buyer in the Retail industry
- Experience in developing own-brand ranges for a retailer
- Current working knowledge of Far East sourcing
- Prior experience in mail order catalogue shopping
- Strong negotiation skills and commercially savvy
- Solid numerical ability along with decision-making skills
- Ability to spot market trends and manage budgets.
