Business Development Manager, Global Fintech (12 Month FTC) - World Leading Law Firm

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development professional to join one of the world's leading law firms on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to provide focused business development and marketing support to the partners and associates of the firm's market-leading global Fintech group.

The role will involve strategic efforts to secure innovative financial technology mandates from a diverse portfolio of new and existing clients within the financial services sector and the successful applicant will play a key role in enhancing the firm's market presence and contributing to the group's success by leveraging industry knowledge and networks to capture leading-edge opportunities for profitable work in the Fintech domain. You will work with dynamic partners and ambitious associates and counsels focused on fintech work and with local business development teams across key financial centres worldwide. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for executing the global Fintech business plan, driving the development of the firm's client targeting, marketing existing strengths and relationships and policing the day-to-day execution of client action plans and deliverables. You will take the lead on identifying opportunities to increase market share by winning more work covering major transactions, risk mandates, strategic advice and complex projects involving the most innovative technologies from blockchain, robo-advisory and digital assets, to quantum computing and will be expected to deliver effective project management of high-profile cross-jurisdictional and cross-practice initiatives. You will manage the cross-practice production of strategically significant RFP responses, pitches and capability statements and will work closely with Client Development Managers to drive engagement and identify opportunities on some of the firm's largest client accounts, while supporting local office teams with their local engagement plans into start-ups with accelerator and innovation labs. Marketing and reputation building will also represent a key element of the role and you will be tasked with identifying opportunities to position and raise the profile of the group and its individual lawyers. The role holder will provide strategic advice and operational support with regard to fintech sponsorships, speaking opportunities and events and will support the promotion of thought leadership content internally and externally. In addition, you will be tasked with the development of key messages, ensuring centralised client-facing collateral and capability statements are regularly maintained, and will coordinate global directory and awards submissions.

In order to perform this role successfully, the ideal candidate will have extensive previous experience in professional services business development and marketing, gained in a leading law firm, to include a track record of being proactive and delivering high quality work, both personally and through a team, and of managing projects successfully. A highly organised self-starter and exceptional team player, with the ability to hit the ground running, the Business Development Manager will need a positive and innovative mindset, eager to challenge existing practices and propose new ideas, and a global perspective, with sensitivity to multiple and diverse cultures. Good commercial awareness and knowledge of the Fintech industry will also be essential,
