Finance Assistant
- Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 pro rata
- Location: Slough
- Job Type: Part-time, Permanent (6 hours per day, 5 days per week)
We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join our friendly team. This part-time, office-based position offers flexible working hours across 5 days Monday to Friday, totalling 30 hours per week. The successful candidate will be integral to our finance procedures, reporting directly to the Executive Director.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist with daily banking and enter journals.
- Manage purchase ledger: print and input invoices, check statements, pay creditors, and reconcile on ERP.
- Address purchase ledger invoice discrepancies.
- Process expense receipts and assign to the correct ledger.
- Conduct bank reconciliations.
- Prepare cash flow reports.
- Handle payroll and pension administration.
- Enter journals for all direct debit payments.
- Send sales ledger statements and follow up on payments.
- Close Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, and VAT ledger each month.
- Run VAT reports and manage payments to HMRC.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting up to trial balance, including VAT returns and bank reconciliations.
- Bookkeeper/accounting qualifications.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Experience using ERP Systems is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English and Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
