We are working with West Yorkshire Combined Authority to find a Building Maintenance Manager on a permanent basis.

We are seeking an Building Maintenance Manager to join our growing team. This role is crucial for managing our asset base, which includes overseeing building maintenance projects and the management of bus depots around West Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have a background in building and property management, with experience in managing contractors and delivering both capital and revenue works. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to significant projects with substantial funding, as our authority expands its operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

- Lead and manage teams dealing with all aspects of infrastructure work and asset management systems.

- Deliver capital and revenue infrastructure projects, including construction, refurbishment, mechanical, and electrical works.

- Design, implement, and maintain systems required for delivering the objectives of your function.

- Participate in delivering directorate's objectives and demonstrate commitment to corporate processes.

- Encourage partnership working across the organisation and manage internal teams, external contractors, and consultants.

- Represent the Combined Authority at various internal and external meetings.

- Manage the health and safety of construction works in accordance with relevant regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Degree in building, engineering, or relevant practical experience.

- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Prince 2, RICS, CIOB, APM, IOSH, P405 - Management of Asbestos in Buildings) is desirable.

- Extensive knowledge and experience in managing health and safety matters in construction, in line with CDM Regulations 2015 and Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

- -Experience in the tendering process, contract management, and NRASWA.

- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with strong planning and organisational skills.
