Location Planner - REMOTE

As a Location Planner, you will be responsible for combining your expertise in Location Planning and geographical knowledge with commercial understanding to provide credible recommendations that influence and inform decisions across the business.

You will set the strategy for assigned regions, considering both new space requirements and the utilisation of existing space, and utilise your strong engagement skills to achieve buy-in from the SMT. .

Your responsibilities as a Location Planner would include the following

Experience of the criteria that makes a good site, from both a customer and operators viewpoint
Ability to interpret and use market share, mosaic, demographic and footfall data
Knowledge and proficiency in using CACI, Experian or other similar data to inform decision making
Experience in assessing locations by visiting site and physically reviewing local competitor set
Knowledge of the UK Retail market and especially players in the discount sector
Understanding of new store approval processes.
Broad knowledge of UK geography, cities and large towns useful, a Town by town approach to the UK will be a primary output objective by early 2025.
Knowledge and network of property agents useful but not essential

Collaboration with Retail and Property Development teams, staying knowledgeable about the retail landscape and competitors, leading improvements in methodology and processes, and contributing to the development of the wider team will be integral to your role as a Location Planner.
