Procurement Team Leader

Job description

The candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of procurement officers that provide procurement support to a wide range of client departments. With the exception of attending audit committee when required (possibly only once during initial term) this role can be entirely remote, with no need to attend the Island but the person will be required to ensure that the team are supported.

We will supply the relevant ICT equipment. The initial requirement is for a 4 day week but happy to negotiate dependent on experience and availability.

KEY DUTIES:

To be a key point of contact for the team when the team needs advice and guidance regarding procurement related queries for ongoing work. With over 100 projects currently underway there will be a need for a broad knowledge of Local Government procurement categories.

The successful candidate will be the council's most senior point of contact for procurement related queries, therefore, applicants will need to have sound working knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

The successful candidate will also have a small portfolio of their own projects to manage and complete as well as being the procurement representative on a number of project boards.

We are a unitary authority so it would be desirable to have experience in this specific area of Local Government. Ideally MCIPS Registered is desirable along with relevant qualifications.
