It can be tricky trying to find short-medium term roles that aren't focused on parachuting in to mop up failing projects or to support an unforeseen peak in workload. This interim role though is one that gives you the chance to be part of the team and be involved in supporting the evolution of the business. With international expansion underway, this ecommerce focused business requires a Head of People to support the CPO and oversee HR delivery for the UK business.

Following a tweak to the structure of the HR team, we are looking for a creative but reliable Head of People to oversee HR delivery for the UK business and support in the delivery of project and change initiatives. You'll be supporting a mix of blue and white collar employees in an entrepreneurial, growth focused environment.

Being a small HR team, you can expect to touch the breadth of the generalist remit – management capability, ER, change management, employee engagement – but will be tasked with supporting a couple of key projects in the immediate future centred around a change of terms and conditions and development of the EVP.

If you find this role feels like one you'd like to sit in for a while longer and join on a permanent basis, you'll find the nature of the role shifting more towards supporting growth and performance, OD, talent management & EDI.

What sort of background is our client looking for in an ideal candidate?

Given the nature of the upcoming projects, experience of delivering change initiatives in ecommerce or retail distribution is essential. To be in with a shout of sticking around longer term, you'll need to demonstrate flexibility in approach to stakeholder engagement and an understanding of supporting tech centred business as well as operational fulfilment.
