Our client school in Bromley by Bow is currently seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Mentor to provide tailored support to a year 8 girl with challenging behaviour, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, along with learning disabilities. This role is set to begin in September, offering an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the student's academic and personal development within the Alternative Provision.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a year 8 student, addressing challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, and learning disabilities.
  2. Collaborate seamlessly with the Alternative Provision team at our client school to implement personalized strategies for the student's academic and personal growth.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the Alternative Provision, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  4. Utilize effective behaviour management techniques to encourage positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and academic engagement.
  5. Engage actively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to the student's progress.
  6. Deliver targeted interventions, adapting strategies to meet the unique needs and learning style of the individual student.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Behaviour Mentor role, with a focus on supporting students with challenging behaviour, SEMH, and learning disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to build trust and rapport with the student and collaborate effectively with the Alternative Provision team.
  • Understanding of alternative provision settings and a commitment to creating a nurturing learning environment.
  • Proactive and adaptable, capable of implementing creative solutions to address challenges.
