Senior Scrum Master

We are looking for a hardworking, intellectually curious individual to play the role of Senior Scrum Master. This individual contributor role requires the management of multiple teams in the capacity of a scrum master/team coach within a scaled agile framework (SAFe) enterprise owning all planning and scrum events.

The ideal candidate shall demonstrate the ability to guide and coach global scrum teams to deliver high quality capabilities to our end customers. The Senior Delivery Lead will support the creation of a high-performance culture within teams promoting continuous improvement, while also supporting self-organization, building domain expertise and cross-functional skills within scrum teams.

Successful candidates will also chip in towards the advancement and improvement of Agile practices and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) standards within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extensive experience in the role of a Scrum Master delivering solutions using Agile approaches (i.e. across business and technology)
  • Demonstrated experience of using data and JIRA to identify team challenges measure improvements and can explain metrics such as velocity and burn-down
  • Confirmed ability to identify impediments, issue & risks and resolve them within
  • Identifies and implements ways to improve team, process and service performance and suggests and implements changes to how the team operates
  • Consistent track record in facilitating Scrum ceremonies to achieve outcomes and understanding of Scrum roles and artefacts, practices, values and principles
  • Demonstrated experience fostering and empowering a culture of high performing teams
  • Implements capability uplift and training on basic concepts such as Scrum events, user stories, agile estimation techniques etc
  • Proficient in clearly explaining distinctions between waterfall and agile methodologies, as well as clarifying the roles and key attributes of this role versus a Project Manager
  • Understands and can articulate concepts of WIP and velocity and how to maximise the Scrum events to optimise them
  • Partners with, coaches and supports the Product Owner in leading the backlog to ensure it is properly prioritized and appropriately sized and it is articulated and understood by the scrum teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate the what can I do to help you improve" attitude within the organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate problem solving and conflict resolution within the company
  • Can articulate the difference between output and outcome and ability to focus on the value delivered to the business.
  • Ability to ensure visibility and facilitate good communication both within the team and the wider organisation

Key Skills

  • In-depth understanding of agile software development projects and lifecycle
  • Strong awareness of modern development practices and micro service-based architecture
  • Good understanding of cloud-based system environments and release management practices
  • Coaching/Mentoring skills focused on the Agile Software Development Methodologies
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels of management & staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with geographically dispersed cross-functional teams and team members.
  • Results focused with ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and without constant supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive management style.
