Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant seeking an opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young learners with SEMH, ASC and MLD? If so, Timeplan Education invite you register with is for a long-term position at a SEN school in Okehampton.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Okehampton, Devon

Contract Type: Full-Time

Start Date: 04/09/2024

Contract Duration: This is a temp to permenant role.

Salary: £90 to £100 per day, depending on experience

About the Provision:

The SEN provision is an integral part of a large multi academy trust and is dedicated to providing a nurturing and tailored learning environment for pupils aged (ages 5-16) with specific needs, including ASD, ADHD, MLD trauma and SEMH needs. They focus on nurturing their participation and building their confidence to enhance their overall learning experience.

Role and Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a team of professionals, including a SEN Teacher and other SEN Teaching Assistants. Your primary role will be to support the pupils on a 1-1 or in small groups, providing encouragement and nurturing support throughout the day. Your responsibilities will include fostering their participation, assisting in building their confidence, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with communication and interaction needs, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with both pupils and the team.

Commitment to providing nurturing support to enhance pupils' confidence and participation.

Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the pupils.

Relevant qualifications or training related to SEN support would be an advantage.
