HR Business Partner

Location: Based at Hawthorne Road Depot, Bootle

Contract type: Fixed term contract for 3 months initially as a trial role.

The position is full time 36 hours per week working arrangements are 6am to 2pm in line with the start times of the operational staff. N.B**. The start time is non-negotiable.**

We are seeking a HR Business Partner to join the Corporate HR Team providing a specific HR service to the Councils Operational In-house Services. The successful applicant will operate from the operational depot at Hawthorne Road, Bootle. The staff that operate from the depot provide a range of services including waste collection and street cleansing services. The postholder is therefore required to be present at the depot to cover this early start time and will be required to be on site during the hours of 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday.

The successful applicant will provide a HR support relative to Operational In-House

Services with specific emphasis on the implementation of the Councils sickness

absence monitoring policy.

The Council has a duty to deliver high quality and value for money services to its residents and fundamental to such services are the Council's employees and their attendance at work. The postholder will therefore be responsible for managing attendance, providing occupational health support as required, and ensuring that the fullest possible attendance at work is maintained to promote efficient and effective service delivery.

Applicants must have experience in a generalist HR role and have worked in a supervisory capacity with experience of managing attendance and undertaking consultations and meetings with Trade Union representatives relative to the management of employee relations issues.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, presentation skills to deliver staff briefing sessions, and organisational skills to manage meetings and appointments around operational delivery needs.

In addition, a good level of IT skills are required with the ability to analyse data using HR systems and to formulate management reports.
