We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Mathematics Academic Mentor to join our team.
Responsibilities: As a Mathematics Academic Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' learning and understanding of mathematics. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Assisting classroom teachers in planning and delivering effective mathematics lessons.
- Providing individual and small-group mentoring sessions to reinforce mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.
- Conducting assessments and tracking students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
- Identifying and addressing individual learning needs, adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
- Encouraging student engagement and fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics.
- Organizing and supervising mathematics-related extracurricular activities or competitions.
- Collaborating with the mathematics department to develop resources, instructional materials, and assessment tools.
- Attending faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Prior experience working with secondary school students in a teaching or mentoring capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of the secondary school mathematics curriculum and teaching methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate students.
- Ability to differentiate instruction based on students' varying needs and learning styles.
- Proficiency in using technology tools and software relevant to mathematics education.
- A growth mindset, with a passion for continuous learning and professional development.
- Organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
