Our client is seeking a Commercial Claims Handler to join their team in Surrey. This is fantastic opportunity to join dynamic commercial insurance broker at an exciting time in their development.

The Job/Duties:

  • This is a busy position, handling Commercial Claims across all classes of insurance, a wide ranging product knowledge is essential for this role.
  • You will able to obtain the best possible claims settlements for clients as quickly as possible whilst providing continued support throughout the process.
  • You will be able to provide technical expertise and advice where necessary, the ability to maintain and improve high levels of business retention.
  • You will have the confidence to negotiate difficult claims with both clients and Insurers.
  • The ideal candidate will be a good team player but also have the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • You will be managing claims from across different products
  • You will keep an efficient diary system for all claims, ensuring claims are chased as required,
  • You will provide the broking department and clients with claims information and reports as required,
  • You will ensure complexed claims are handled as per the group procedures,
  • You will acknowledge all new claims to both clients and insurers and keep clients informed, and ensure best outcome on each claim,
  • You will produce claims reports when required,
  • You will undertake any other duties as requested by management on an ad-hoc basis.

The Person:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years Commercial Claims Handling experience. They will be confident and have good written and oral skills. You will have the ability to build good relationships with both clients and Insurers/underwriters.

Professional Qualifications:

Progress towards the CII would be advantageous although not essential. A good standard of general education is expected.
