Mortgage Underwriter
As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth processing of mortgage applications by working closely with brokers, customers, and lenders. Your role will involve maintaining up-to-date knowledge of general mortgage criteria, solving problems, and ensuring all processes are carried out with a high level of accuracy. You will also focus on building strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate incremental business and smooth the process from application to offer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mortgage Criteria Management: Maintain a highly developed understanding of general mortgage criteria and ensure all relevant criteria and rates are kept up to date.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during the mortgage application process.
- Lender Panel Knowledge: Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the company's lender panel, ensuring smooth communication and processing of applications.
- Flexibility: Exhibit a flexible approach to meet evolving business requirements, adapting to changes as necessary.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure a meticulous approach to all tasks, aiming for a right-first-time outcome in all aspects of application processing.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with brokers and customers to drive incremental business, and with lenders to ensure a seamless application process.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Industry Experience: Ideally, you should have at least two years of recent experience in the mortgage industry.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a preference for working in a structured and planned manner.
