Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Andover, is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent position offering exciting opportunities for growth and development.

As a Junior Manufacturing Engineer, you will split your time between different departments within the manufacturing team. Two and a half days per week will be dedicated to the workshop, specifically CNC machining, while the remaining time will be spent with the production team. Additionally, there may be occasions when you will be required to assist in the stores. The weekly time allocation for each section may vary depending on workload and business needs.

In this role, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training in all areas of manufacturing. Our client is committed to your professional growth and will provide additional training as required. You will also benefit from mentoring in all departments, allowing you to develop a broad set of skills including production mechanical build, CNC deburring, stock and stores control, as well as quality control.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Assisting the workshop team with daily tasks such as deburring and work allocation.
  2. Supporting the production team with their daily tasks.
  3. Assisting the stores team in their daily operations.
  4. Working independently and efficiently, using your own initiative.
  5. Following production instructions and drawings, and taking verbal instructions as needed.

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated ability to build working relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior staff.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new skills as required.
