This is your chance to get a real taste for Merchandising, as you're exposed to the constantly evolving world of range and space. It can be daunting – but it can also be a fantastic opportunity to learn and be inspired by a company that's so different to all the others.
We're a busy service department and we are proud of the work we deliver in making our ranges easy to shop, efficient to replenish and deliver a great customer experience too! The Merchandising team is pivotal in supporting change in the Aldi business and we have some exciting projects on the horizon that will help enhance the customer experience further. In this fast-paced placement you'll work as part of an awesome team that manages Aldi's in-store ranging and supports the Buying and Store Operations functions with optimal layouts. You will be at the forefront of helping deliver new trials and initiatives that can enhance the Aldi business. Some people would suggest we just "move boxes on a screen" and then the magic of Merchandising randomly happens, but there really is more to the job and this experience will blow your mind as to what's involved.
Alongside this there will be an opportunity to work alongside our Macro space / Store planning specialists to help determine what Aldi's future stores look like and how we can maximise our Store estate with ever changing customer behaviours (who remembers a time before self-checkouts?) With this means more responsibility, and more chance to make an impact on your placement year!
What's more, we're still a relatively small team, we never rest on our laurels and want to continue building on our fantastic work we have already delivered in the past few years to make Aldi a really great place to work and shop.
Please note that our Placement Programmes are for university students currently studying towards an undergraduate degree, who are seeking a 12-month sandwich placement before their final year of study.
You'll need to be working towards a 2:1 degree, have 96 UCAS points from your top 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications), possess a driving licence and have the right to work in the UK.
