Role: Senior Buyer
Location: Salford
Salary: £50k
My client, an innovative plastic fabrication company, are looking for a Senior Buyer to replace a longstanding member of staff due to retirement. This is a fast paced and rewarding role, with plenty of opportunity for you to develop & strengthen your career path.
Day to day duties include:
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies for materials.
- Negotiate with suppliers and manage supplier relationships.
- Analyse market trends to make informed buying decisions.
- Work with the production team to forecast material needs.
- Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess.
- Report on purchasing activities and cost savings.
The ideal candidate will:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Relevant certifications such as CIPS are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in a buying or procurement role
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
