Automation Analyst

A forward-thinking global engineering consultancy business is searching the market for an Automation Analyst located in the Southampton area. As a company they pair their expertise in engineering across multiple sectors along with their drive to bring about sustainable change through developing their clients' business models with a future orientated approach. Their areas of expertise include high-rise and public buildings, transport infrastructure in bridges and rail systems, aviation, the environment and water. This is crucial role in the day-to-day as well as long term goals of the Systems team and wider business, with the incumbent working on exciting ad-hoc projects as well as dedicating their time to ensure that the department is working as optimally as possible while deciphering opportunities to further increase this effectiveness through use of automation processes and systems. In the long run, this will not only help the business work to an optimal standard but will also support senior management and key stakeholders in make key commercial decisions that will greatly affect the growth of the business.

Your Role and Responsibilities

While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing analysis for existing business support processes in order to identify areas where automation can be used to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Developing and implementing automation solutions using all technology and tools at your disposal, and then ensuring these are maintained moving forwards
  • Transitioning into becoming the subject matter expert on process automation projects, including taking responsibility for gathering requirements and for the technical project delivery
  • Developing strong stakeholder relationships by keeping regular and informative communication with related parties, ensuring that activities and targets are aligned to expectations
  • Evaluating the performance of existing automated processes and identifying areas for improvement and updating to align better with business goals

What you will need to Apply:

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have at least 3 years within a comparable role whereupon their focus has been automating business support processes. Experience with APIs, RPAs and other process automation tools is required. Applicants are expected to have demonstratable experience with at least one element of Power Platform, whether this is Power Automate, PowerBI or PowerApps. A basic understanding of Python is needed as well as SQL and strong Microsoft Office and SharePoint knowledge. Excellent communication skills are paramount to success and will be sought after, as well as strong organisational and analytical capabilities.

What you will get in Return:

For the successful candidate, a starting salary in the region of £36,000 is on offer, which of course will be dependent on previous relevant experience and knowledge. This will accompany a strong benefits package, including a possible bonus, a good holiday allocation, market leading pension contribution and additional monetary incentives and benefits. There may also be the option for flexible working within this role too, to be discussed with the hiring manager.
