Engineering Inspector

Engineering Inspector required for a global manufacturer of bespoke parts based in Swindon, providing full production and quality support for the verification of mechanical parts and components. This is a full-time post, working a double day shift rota (6-2/2-10) Monday to Friday offering a highly attractive salary, paid overtime and enhanced employee benefits package.

Your key responsibilities will include supporting the production, turning and milling department by completing a full 2"d inspection check, for each batch, after all tool setting pre and postproduction. This involves the systematic checking of each feature of medium, small and tight tolerance components, using a range of measuring equipment (verniers, calliper's, micrometres and gauges).

As Engineering Inspector, you will be responsible for Interpreting complex, technical component drawings and assessing customer standards in line with service level agreements, ensuring that products are produced to the highest possible manufactured quality standard. Working with the wider production team and engineering teams, you will be responsible for the operation and running of the co-ordinate measuring machines for a range of certain features. You will support the Quality Assurance team by completing internal calibration checks of all measuring equipment, conducting a series of routine quality and 5s' audit checks of patrolled manufactured batches.

Ideally, we are seeking a candidate who may have completed an engineering apprenticeship in tooling, with experienced gained in turning, milling, and/or other mechanical or inspection experience. You must be able to understand engineering drawings, symbols, revisions and documentation and if you do have prior experience of CMM Machines this would be especially desirable.
