ABOUT ASEND

ASEND is a highly specialist SEND company, providing consultancy, training, recruitment and tuition. ASEND is run by SEND education experts with long experience of working in schools, charities and local authorities.

One of the key areas of our support for young people and their families is our specialist, SEND-focused Tuition. We have a diverse team of tutors providing home or local tuition for children with SEND who don't have a school place, across several London boroughs and Home Counties. Our tutors support students back into education, by filling in gaps academically and supporting their mental health and well-being. We are not a 'typical' Tutor agency - everything we do stems from our deep expertise in and passion for SEND. We work closely with families and local authorities to find the ideal tutor for young people, to support their development as well as possible and prepare them for their next steps; whether it is to go to a new school, return to their school or become an independent adult.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate Office Manager to help coordinate our SEND team and assist with organisational admin. The Office Manager will be responsible for a range of tasks such as maintaining records, spreadsheets and folders, collecting KPI data and providing technical and admin support for team members. They're also responsible for key elements of our tuition process, e.g. managing the tutor induction process, coordinating assessments, responding to tuition enquiries, processing new referrals, and researching tuition venues. In short, the Office Manager is a critical part of the team.

The Office Manager provides support to all members of the SEND team. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with other team members to ensure the interface between the SEND team and the rest of the organisation runs smoothly. Strong interpersonal and administrative skills are vital to the role. You'll need to be people-focused with the ability to lead and motivate, but also have a well-organised and rational approach to your work.

This a superb opportunity for someone with experience in admin, education, operations and/or project management who is looking to further develop their organisational, administrative and management skills in an educational setting. You'll need to have strong digital skills and be proficient with Microsoft and Google suite programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets). The ideal candidate will also have experience of supporting and coordinating a range of team members and be able to show initiative, creativity and independence when approaching tasks.

ASEND children and families always come first and everything we do is in the interests of the pupils for whom we work. You'll have a particular responsibility for embodying and promoting this ASEND culture throughout our team.

The Office Manager role is mostly remote working, with approximately two days per month in-person at our North London office. The Office Manager may also be required to visit potential tuition venues and/or tuition centres around the Greater London area as and when needed. Flexible working hours are possible.

If you feel that you have the right skills and experience we'd love to see your application.
