The opportunity:
Reporting to the Head of UK Health & Safety, you will be responsible for overseeing and promoting a positive safety culture across the UK operations. You will work closely with teams at the main manufacturing facility in Birtley as well as at their new state-of-the-art distribution centre in Gateshead to manage risk, provide robust safety training and support and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Some facilities operate under the COMAH regulations and part of this role will be maintenance and development of the emergency response processes in conjunction with external responders such as Fire, Police and Ambulance services.
About you:
As an experienced Health & Safety professional you will have well-developed communication skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate, challenge and influence all site teams at various levels within the organisation.
You will have a proven track record or working within an industrial environment.
A key skill requirement in this role is the ability to transfer safety best practice into workable solutions by developing, training and mentoring staff within all areas of the business, particularly operational areas.
