Executive Assistant to the Chief Data, Technology and Insights Officer

Posted by Competition and Markets Authority.

Are you an organised, flexible and detail-orientated professional ready to take the next step in your career?

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Assistant right at the heart of their Data, Technology and Insight Directorate (DTI).

About the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)

We help people, businesses, and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour. Our work is wide ranging, ambitious and often new and challenging.

The DTI Directorate consolidates our capability and activity across areas of growing importance, including data science and engineering, artificial intelligence, behavioural science, technology insight, and digital forensics, as well as technology systems, architecture, digital products and tooling.

What you will do

You will provide proactive and comprehensive high-level support to the Chief Data, Technology and Insights Officer (CDTIO), acting as a key link between the CDTIO and the rest of the organisation.

You will deliver fast-paced diary support, whilst helping the CDTIO to set and deliver their priorities, anticipating potential problems and using your judgement to come up with solutions. This will involve researching issues, reviewing documents and liaising closely with colleagues from across the CMA to effectively organise the CDTIO's time.

You will need to work closely with other PAs from across the CMA to manage meetings with key external stakeholders. This will also include cross-Directorate meetings, senior management 1:1s and other similar meetings.

In addition to this, you will also deliver support across the CMA's PA cohort to address skills gaps, implementing 'Best Practices' that maximise the impact of the cohort and the support provided to the CMA's Senior Leadership team. Additional responsibilities in relation to projects within the Directorate may also be required.

What you will need

You will possess strong administrative and organisational skills ideally gained in an executive level support role, along with experience of successfully prioritising multiple work tasks to meet strict deadlines.

You will be able to work strategically and effectively as part of a team, being responsible for your own workload and supporting others in the delivery of work.

You must also be proficient in document production and document management, pairing this with a strict attention to detail and excellent ICT capability and skills, particularly with Microsoft Office programmes.

Excellent relationship management and communication skills are essential, including the ability to build a network of contacts and to relay information to diverse audiences.

What we can offer you

In return the CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work - an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and flexible working options.
