Our client, a leading organisation in the automotive sector, is seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to join their team. Role: Project Planner/Manager

Duration: Initial end date is 31/01/25, ongoing Contract

Location: Crewe, CW1 3PL

Pay rate: £31/hr PAYE, £40/hr LTD/Umbrella

Hours: 37+ hours per week

Monday to Thursday 8 - 5 Friday usually 12pm finish

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for pulling together a central plan and detailed project plans for the successful delivery of market approvals for vehicle projects. Reporting to the Technical Conformity Project Management team and working alongside Certification Engineers, you will play a pivotal role in developing and managing the certification delivery plan. Your key deliverables will include generating and maintaining project plans, actively managing the critical path, and identifying and mitigating potential risks and impacts to the plan.

To excel in this role, you will need to have a demonstrable experience of project planning and successful project delivery within an engineering environment. You should also have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project and project management principles. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills are a must, as you will be influencing people at all levels. Additionally, your high level of self-motivation and strong presentation skills will contribute to your success in this role.

What You'll Do:

  • Generate and maintain project plans for certification project delivery
  • Actively manage the critical path to ensure successful project delivery
  • Identify and escalate potential risks and impacts to the plan
  • Ensure robust change control of plans and management of change control log
  • Generate project health metrics and project status reporting
  • Maintain project calendar, resource names, and task allocation
  • Provide regular overviews of resource capacity vs requirements

What You'll Bring:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Project
