What makes the perfect Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant?
- A proven track record of working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and EHCPs
- Extensive experience supporting autistic children in an educational setting (essential)
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable nature, with excellent communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously and confidently manage one-on-one and group learning sessions
- Training in SEN support highly preferred
What would a day in the life of an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant look like?
- Provide one-on-one and group support for Key Stage 2 children with specific educational needs
- Implement strategies to help students with autism and other learning challenges access the curriculum effectively
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher to develop individualized learning plans and tailored support strategies
- Manage challenging behaviours and ensure students feel supported, safe, and included in classroom activities
- Utilise your experience to offer both pastoral and academic support across multiple subjects
- Be a key part of a supportive team dedicated to enhancing the learning experience for SEN children
Salary and Benefits:
- As an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant - Earn £500-560 per week
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday (35 hours per week)
- Immediate start for the 2024/25 academic year
- State-of-the-art, brand new SEN provision
- Full Makaton training to be provided
