Our local authority client based in North West London are urgently seeking an experienced Information Governance Officer.
*£300 a day Umbrella*
*3 days a week in the office*
Role Purpose
An experienced Information Rights Officer with strong technical skills is required to clear the backlog of Social Care SARS and FOIs and support the delivery of a range of upcoming enhancements the Case Management System (icasework) and to support the development of the new operating model across the council.
Main Duties / Accountabilities
- Familiarise yourself with SAR and FOI processes, legal requirements, and internal systems.
- Evaluate the existing backlog and devise a strategic plan to address it.
- Begin processing less complex requests to swiftly reduce the backlog.
- Progress to handling medium-complexity requests as part of the ongoing backlog reduction.
- Start addressing more complex requests, ensuring thoroughness and compliance.
- Assess progress and efficiency, adapt strategies based on identified bottlenecks and challenges.
- Support Implementing the strategic adjustments and continue processing the remaining backlog.
- Focus on clearing the remaining backlog, with a focus on complex cases.
- Conduct a comprehensive quality check on processed requests to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Complete the processing of any remaining backlog.
- Prioritise managing new SAR and FOI requests efficiently.
- Ongoing Tasks: Include daily task tracking and reporting, continuous process improvement, and training and mentoring throughout the programme.
