We are now looking for an Exhibition Curator to join us on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week for a six-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.

The Role

As the Exhibition Curator, you will be responsible for curating and delivering a small temporary exhibition that highlights the history and future of veganism.

Managing the curation process, you will oversee the exhibition's budget and co-ordinate with volunteers working on the project, ensuring that all curatorial practices and procedures are maintained to the highest standard.

You will collaborate with various teams, assisting with planning and hosting launches and receptions, and ensure that the exhibition can be restaged at various events throughout the anniversary year.

Additionally, you will:

- Establish and maintain good curatorial practice and procedures
- Work with the Head of Communications and Fundraising to originate, develop, and deliver the temporary exhibition
- Ensure the exhibition provides a self-maintaining and educational activity for younger visitors
- Increase and broaden audiences by providing an engaging, meaningful, and welcoming experience

About You

To be considered as our Exhibition Curator, you will need:

- Significant experience as a curator of historic collections or exhibitions
- Practical experience of collection handling, transport, storage, and risk management
- Excellent working knowledge of current standards of collections care and museum practice
- The ability to assess conservation requirements and undertake condition checks
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
