Your new company
A globally recognised leader in the materials testing industry was established in 1946 by two scientists who were researching replacement materials for parachutes. They found that no testing machine was accurate enough to meet their demands. Today, this organisation remains committed to delivering the highest quality, leading-edge technologies and services designed to push the boundaries of research, quality control, and service-life testing. Their systems evaluate the mechanical properties of materials and structures using various methods such as tensile, compression, flexural, fatigue, impact, dynamic, torsional, and multi-axial loading. As such, they are now seeking a Planning and Supply Chain Specialist to help them on this journey.

Your new role
In your role, you will serve as a liaison between Global Dynamic Product Sales and the factory. This proactive role requires understanding the external situation and its impact on internal resources. It ensures accurate order translation for manufacturing, aiming to maximise customer satisfaction within resource and material constraints. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this specialist collaborates with Low Force Purchasing & Planning teams and contributes to planning improvements across products. You will be scheduling new orders in IFS, process one-shots for High Force & Engineered Systems, and generate shop orders to drive the supply chain.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and expertise in Excel and data manipulation, and be a concise communicator with customers and suppliers within a team environment. They should have an analytical, methodical, and accurate approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines and balance priorities. A 'can-do' attitude when faced with challenges is essential. Qualifications include an ONC/HNC, or equivalent NVQ levels in a manufacturing discipline. Ideally, you will have previous work in a planning role dealing with electro-mechanical products, with purchasing/buying experience being desirable but not essential. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an engineering manufacturing environment is required however. Key performance measurements include meeting on-time delivery targets for customer orders and production shop orders, scheduling customer orders within a set time frame, and monitoring inventory levels to avoid impact by grading and/or obsolescence.

What you'll get in return
The company's commitment to its core values of transparency, inclusion, respect, courage, ownership, and curiosity. This commitment creates an engaging work environment and offers exceptional opportunities for personal and career growth. Employees feel challenged and trusted to deliver, and they report being fairly paid The people are described as really nice and very helpful. There is also a lot of room to move upwards or sideways within the company as your skills grow. Moreover, you will be provided opportunities to learn more about the companies' highly complex product range. It's also worth noting that employees have the opportunity to influence and define their own future within this worldwide organisation.
